Refund
Policy
DETC REFUND POLICY The Refund Policy for the
University of Atlanta states:
All students are guaranteed that tuition at the time of
registration will not increase as long as they are actively
and continuously enrolled in a program.
The University further guarantees that students who wish
to withdraw will have all money due refunded within 30 days.
A student may request refund in any manner, but a written
request is preferred.
Tuition refunds will be based on the date of cancellation
and will be applied per course as follows:
- If a student cancels within 5 calendar days after midnight
of the day the student signs the Enrollment Agreement
(Full Refund Period), the student will receive a FULL
refund with NO further obligation.
- If a student cancels after the Full Refund Period but
before the school receives the first completed lesson,
the student will be refunded all money paid, less an administrative
fee of 20% not to exceed $200 for the degree program.
- If a student cancels after completing at least one lesson
assignment but less than 50 percent of course assignments,
the University will retain a percentage of refundable
tuition which will not exceed the following: Up to and
including 10 percent of the course, 10 percent of the
refundable tuition (tuition charges remaining after subtracting
the non-refundable fee already retained).
- a. Between 10 percent and 25 percent of the
course, 25 percent of the refundable tuition.
- b. Between 25 percent and 50 percent of the
course, 50 percent of the refundable tuition.
- c. After the student completes more than half
the course, the institution shall be entitled to retain
the entire total course tuition.
The amount of the course completed shall be the ratio of
completed lesson assignments received by the institution
to the total lesson assignments required to complete the
course.
A student will receive a full refund for any courses they
do not start.
GNPEC REFUND POLICY (for Georgia residents only):
The Refund Policy below is for the University of Atlanta’s
Georgia Residents only.
If a student cancels within 5 calendar days after midnight
of the day the student signs the Enrollment Agreement (Full
Refund Period), the student will receive a FULL refund with
NO further obligation.
The University of Atlanta uses the following criteria to
calculate refunds:
- The date on which the student has begun the official
withdrawal process as prescribed;
• The date that is one day prior to the midpoint of the
period of enrollment for the student who stops attending
classes without notification to the institution;- The last
date of academically significant interaction for
asynchronous programs of study;
- The applicant requesting cancellation more than three (3)
business days after signing the contract or the student
completing no more than five (5) percent of the
instructional time is refunded no less than ninety-five
percent of tuition;
- The student completing more than five (5) percent but no
more than ten (10) percent of instructional time is refunded
no less than ninety (90) percent of tuition;
- The student completing more than ten (10) percent but no
more than twenty-five (25) percent of instructional time is
refunded no less than seventy-five (75) percent of tuition;
- The student completing more than twenty-five (25) percent
but no more than fifty (50) percent of instructional time is
refunded no less than fifty (50) percent of tuition;
- The student completing more than fifty (50) percent of
instructional time is informed that the institution is not
required to issue a refund.
If the University of Atlanta cancels or changes a program of
study or course (time or location) in such a way that a
student who has started the program or course is unable to
continue:
- Makes arrangements in a timely manner to accommodate the
needs of each student enrolled in the course;
- Refunds all money paid by the student for the program of
study or course if alternative arrangements determined by NPEC to be equitable to both the institution and the student
are not possible.
